ORB Colt Tops Second Session at Fasig October Sale

A yearling colt by Kentucky Derby winner ORB commanded the highest price during the second session of Fasig-Tipton’s October Sale.

Hip 759, out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Zealous Gold and from the family of champion SONGBIRD, was purchased by trainer Tony Dutrow for $300,000.

ORB’s progeny have been well-received by buyers thus far, bringing up to $450,000. He is currently the #1 1st-crop sire by Sales Average and Median with his first yearlings averaging $149,954.

Orb stands at Claiborne Farm in Paris, KY for a stud fee of $25,000.
