A Maiden Special Weight debut winner here last May, MOONLIT STROLL was making only her fifth career start and first in a stakes, let alone Graded, in the Grade 1 Humana Distaff S. on the Kentucky Derby undercard. The 4-year-old filly by STROLL had placed in all three of her other starts, all on turf, including a runner-up finish in her first and only start this year. MOONLIT STROLL broke sharply from post six and soon took the lead in this seven-furlong event. Still on the lead as they hit the top of the stretch, MOONLIT STROLL was challenged in mid-stretch but dug in and continued to battle to the wire finishing just a 1/2-length off a Grade 1 win. She finished behind a GSW/G1-placed filly and a Champion Female Sprinter/Breeders’ Cup winner. Bred and raised at Claiborne Farm out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Wait Awhile, MOONLIT STROLL is trained by Grant Forster for Team Forster 151 LLC.
