On Leave, the 3yo daughter of Claiborne sire War Front, romped going gate to wire in the Sands Point Stakes (G2) Sept 17 at Belmont. Out of blue hen mare Meghan’s Joy (A.P. Indy), On Leave completed the 1 1/8 mile on turf in 1:47.82.
It was the first Graded Stakes win of her career and 30th career Graded Stakes winner for her sire.
On Leave is undefeated in four starts this year for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. Earlier this year, she won the Riskaverse Stakes at Saratoga by an easy 2 1/2 lengths.
She is now pointing towards the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) at Keeneland on Oct. 15.
