Winner of the Rushaway S. in 2011 and Saratoga’s Win S. in 2012, SWIFT WARRIOR earned his first graded win in the John B. Connally Turf Cup S.-G3. Setting the pace from the outset in this 1 1/8-mile race at Sam Houston, this 5-year-old son of FIRST SAMURAI continued that lead to the wire, opening up through the stretch to win by 2 3/4 lengths. In his final start of 2012, SWIFT WARRIOR was only 3/4-length back from taking Churchill’s Grade 3 River City H. He has now won or placed in 14 of 19 starts, including six stakes, and has earned $340,843.
