FIRST SAMURAI’S EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE WINS DEL MAR DEBUTANTE-G1

Undefeated in four starts, 2-year-old EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE won the $300,000 Del Mar Debutante S.-G1 in a thrilling finish.  Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE was further back than in previous starts.  Racing down the middle of the track, she set her sights on the leader, then ran down that rival at the wire.  “I thought she had her work cut out for her,” said trainer Bob Baffert. “She really had to dig deep.”

A $650,000 OBS 2-year-old, EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE broke her maiden at Hollywood Park, then won the Landaluce S. and Sorrento S.-G3 in her next two outings. She was bred in Kentucky by D. J. Stable, Kidder, J. Betz and Robenalt and is out of Refugee, a graded stakes-placed daughter of Unaccounted For.
