FIRST SAMURAI’S APROPOS 1ST AMERICAN BEAUTY S.

APROPOS won her second consecutive start in 2014 with an impressive 3 1/4-length score in the $100,000 American Beauty S. Racing six furlongs on the main track at Oaklawn Park, the newest stakes winner for FIRST SAMURAI sat a length off the leader in second in the early going. Angling out three wide coming out of the turn, APROPOS took the lead with about a furlong to go and quickly cleared the field to get the win while the rider lost his whip late. In her stakes debut last June at Churchill, APROPOS finished a troubled second to a stakes winner/G1-placed horse.

The consistent Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider homebred has won or placed in eight of nine starts, including five wins, and has earned $220,433.
