First Mare In-foal to Grade 1 Winner Annapolis

Paris, KY – Claiborne Farm announced Feb. 29 that the first mare has checked in-foal to Annapolis.

He was bred to St Claude (by Tiznow), a mare owned by Pete and Martha Williams, from the family of Horse of the Year FLIGHTLINE. She is boarded at Nicky Drion Thoroughbreds.

Annapolis, a Grade 1-winning son of War Front, is standing his first season at Claiborne following a successful career on the racetrack. A Graded Stakes winner at 2 and 3 as a homebred for Bass Racing under trainer Todd Pletcher, Annapolis set a new stakes record in the Coolmore Turf Mile (G1).

Annapolis hails from a prolific dirt family. His dam, My Miss Sophia (by Unbridled’s Song), was a Graded Stakes winner on dirt and runner-up in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). His family also includes Florida Derby winner MATERIALITY, Alabama Stakes winner EMBELLISH THE LACE, and Travers Stakes winner AFLEET EXPRESS.
