DEPARTING Places in G1 Stephen Foster H.

Making his second start of the season, multiple G2 SW DEPARTING put in a strong effort to place in the $500,0000 Stephen Foster H.-G1 at Churchill Downs. Stalking the pace four wide never more than 2 1/2 lengths off the lead in this 1 1/8-mile main event, the 4-year-old son ofWAR FRONT challenged the leader at the top of the stretch and continued to battle to the wire finishing just two lengths back of the win. DEPARTING won the 2013 Super Derby-G2 by four lengths, the West Virginia Derby-G2 by 8 3/4 lengths, the Illinois Derby-G3 and Texas Heritage S. A homebred racing for Claiborne Farm and Adele B. Dilschneider, DEPARTING was bred in Kentucky and is out of the Pulpit mare, Leave.  He now has seven wins and two placings in 11 career starts for earnings of $1,491,340.
