DEMARCHELIER (GB) Offers KY Exclusivity to Burgeoning Sire Line

The only British stallion ever to sire over 100 graded stakes winners, DEMARCHELIER (GB)’S sire Dubawi has proven himself as a top class stallion with Grade 1 winners both on the turf and dirt. But in recent years, the stallion has shown his ability doesn’t stop at just producing racehorses, with Dubawi an emerging sire-of-sires.

Already a sure winner of England’s champion sire title again in 2020, Dubawi’s influence on leading sire lists is seen on sire lists around the world as well.

Son Night Of Thunder (standing for €75,000 in 2021) had a record-breaking freshman season in 2019 and leads Europe’s Second-Crop Sires list in 2020. Also leading all Northern Hemisphere second crop sires by stakes winners, stakes horses, and percentage of graded stakes winners to starters, Night Of Thunder is far from a one-off success for Dubawi’s sireline.

One only has to look one spot below him on Europe’s Second-Crop sires list to find another successful stallion who can trace his talent back to Dubawi.

By Dubawi’s son Makfi, Make Believe is second to only Night of Thunder by earnings and ties with him at the top of the list by Grade 1 horses in 2020. Make Believe evens tops that stallion by having a Grade 1 classic winner in Mishriff.

Night Of Thunder and Make Believe aren’t the two stallions that prove DEMARCHELIER (GB) has an exciting future ahead as a son of Dubawi, however.

When one flips to Europe’s first crop sire list, Dubawi’s son New Bay holds the fort as one of the top freshmen sires on the continent. A top two sire by number of graded stakes winners with two and top five sire by stakes horses with four, New Bay has proven to be among the best of his generation.

Dubawi’s influence has been felt all around the world thanks in part to Make Believe’s sire Makfi. Among the top stallions on General Sire lists in both France and New Zealand, he is joined In the Southern Hemisphere by Dubawi’s son Akeed Mofeed in Australia.

In a generation that includes leading Australian sires Zoustar, Dundeel, and Spirit Of Boom, Akeed Mofeed’s success from limited opportunities saw him land among the leading stallions on both the first and second sire lists in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons.

The only Dubawi son standing in Kentucky, DEMARCHELIER (GB) has everything needed to join his sire’s other sons as successful sires. A winner on debut and stakes winner at three, DEMARCHELIER (GB) also comes from one of the top families in the world as a grandson of the bluehen mare Jude out of a full sister to classic winner Yesterday and champion Quarter Moon.

DEMARCHELIER (GB) still has a few years until he can top his own sire lists, but with his first foals arriving soon, excitement is high for this top class son of Dubawi with his first covered mares selling for up to $150,000, 30 times his stud fee, this winter.
