DEMARCHELIER (GB) Filly Wins By 10 ½ Lengths At Fair Grounds

There was no stopping DEMARCHELIER’s (GB) Marshamarshamarsha on Thursday as the filly romped to a 10 ½ length maiden victory at the Fair Grounds in her third start.

Covering 1 1/16 miles on the turf, the filly raced near the back of the pack 6 ½ lengths of the leader early on before moving closer as she raced down the three-path. She had closed the margin to just over two lengths after the half and started making a serious move to stalk the leader in the turn.

Going for the win as the field navigated the later part of the turn, Marshamarshamarsha had the lead by the time they hit the stretch and there was no stopping her momentum from there. A heavy race favorite, she won by 10 ½ lengths with the third placed runner 14 lengths behind.

Trained by Steve Margolis for Elements Racing and bred by Rosilyn Polan, the 3-year-old is the first foal out of Got It Made.

Got It Made’s granddam is the successful broodmare Promenade Girl, whose three stakes performers include three-time Grade 1 winner Cavorting. That mare is also the dam of four-time Grade 1 winner Clairiere.

This is the 14th winner for DEMARCHELIER (GB), who was the leading first crop sire of turf winners last year.
