South Bend (Algorithms – Sandra’s Rose) kept his perfect record intact when taking the Street Sense Stakes at Churchill Downs on October 27th.
Unbeaten in three starts, the two-year-old colt completed the one mile on dirt test in 1:35.56, only one-hundredth of a second off McCraken’s stakes-record time of 1:35.55 in 2016.
“It’s always nice to have a horse show this much talent early in his career,” said trainer Stanley Hough. “He hasn’t shown me anything yet that he can’t stretch out around two turns, so the Kentucky Jockey Club at the end of the meet would make sense.”
South Bend is owned by Sagamore Farm and was bred in Kentucky by Highclere, Inc.
