ALGORITHMS’ FULL BROTHER WINS MSW AT BELMONT

ENCODE, a 3-year-old colt racing for Darley Stable, rallied down the stretch to capture a seven-furlong Maiden Special Weight at Belmont Park. By Bernardini out of Ava Knowsthecode and thus a full bother to ALGORITHMS, was a $625,000 Keeneland September 2012 Yearling Sales graduate. ENCODE was making only his second career start after making his debut on a sloppy track at Belmont in May. Another sibling, his half-brother JUSTIN PHILLIP by FIRST SAMURAI, was bumped several times through the stretch and still was only beaten a neck in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Invitational S. on September 27. JUSTIN PHILLIP has now earned $1,248,437, including winning the 2013 Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. at Saratoga in August.
