FIRST SAMURAI’S LEA TAKES HAL’S HOPE S.-G3

LEA returned to the dirt and made a winning debut for Hall of Famer Bill Mott. The son ofFIRST SAMURAI made easy work of the one-mile test over Gulfstream Park’s oval. The victory also provided his jockey, Luis Saez, with his 1,000 win. LEA, who was making only his third start on dirt, raced near the front of the field before taking over in the stretch and continuing strongly to score by 3 1/4 lengths. The Claiborne and Adele Dilschneider homebred has five wins from 11 starts for those connections and earnings of $409,618.
