FIRST SAMURAI’S LAST GUNFIGHTER WINS PIMLICO SPECIAL-G3

LAST GUNFIGHTER (by FIRST SAMURAI) was made the favorite for the 1 3/16-mile $300,000 Pimlico Special S.-G3, and he lived up to his 3-5 billing.  The 4-year-old  colt had 3 1/2 lengths to make up at the head of the stretch. He took aim on the leader, and then pulled away for a comfortable 4 1/4-length win.

Ridden by Javier Castellano and trained by Chad Brown, LAST GUNFIGHTER won Aqueduct’s Excelsior S.-G3 on March 23 in his last start.  A Kentucky-bred, he is out of the Sir Cat mare Saratoga Cat and races for owner/breeder John D. Gunther.  He now has six wins and four placings from 10 starts, is undefeated in three starts this year, and has earnings of over $475,000.
