Another impressive maiden winner for Algorithms

Bay Numbers represented Claiborne stallion Algorithms in spectacular fashion when the 2-year-old colt broke his maiden at second asking by 6 ¼ lengths at Monmouth Park July 9.

Trained by Edward Plesa Jr. for Live Oak Plantation, Bay Numbers came into the race off a fifth-place effort in a maiden event at Monmouth June 3.

The colt was bred by John A. Wolf and was purchased for $180,000 by his current owner at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Florida select 2-year-olds in training sale from SBM Training and Sales. He is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Zawzooth.

Bay Numbers is the fourth winner out of nine starters for Algorithms, who entered stud in 2013. The stallion is also represented this year by Recruiting Ready, who ran second in the G3 Bashford Manor Stakes July 2, and earned TDN Rising Star status in his previous start.

An undefeated graded stakes-winning son of Bernardini, Algorithms is a full or half brother to four graded stakes winners. He stands for $5,000 at Claiborne.
