Another Impressive Winner for DEMARCHLIER (GB) at Turfway

It was a third winner of the year for DEMARCHELIER (GB) on Thursday when Sarah Wells homebred High Fashion Kate romped home by eight lengths to break her maiden at Turfway Park.

Trained by Wayne Minnock, the DEMARCHELIER (GB) daughter wasn’t the first out of the gate but quickly went to the front to take control of the 6 ½ furlong race. The filly was always in command and steadily started pulling away around the turn to have over five lengths on her rivals going into the final furlong.

There was no stopping her as she romped to an eight length win to become the 15th overall winner for her sire.

High Fashion Kate is the third winner from five to race out of the multiple stakes winning In The Rough. That mare is the fourth stakes performer from High Fashion Kate’s first five dams. The family also includes Grade 1 winner Basin and Grade 3 winner Rise Up among others.

The new winner put him 11th among all second crop sires with at least 11 fewer runners than anyone ahead of him.
