2YO AIR FORCE BLUE Runner-Up in Royal Ascot’s Coventry-G2

A winner in his only start, AIR FORCE BLUE came from midpack to finish runner-up in the six-furlong Coventry S.-G2 on the first day of the five-day Royal Ascot Meeting. The 2-year-old colt by WAR FRONT broke well but was then steadied under a tight hold to be in the middle of the pack. With a 1/4-mile to go, AIR FORCE BLUE quickened his stride, took the lead with a furlong to go and continued to run on to the wire in this 17-horse field. Owned by Mrs. John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith and trained by Aidan O’Brien, the Stone Farm-bred AIR FORCE BLUE set the pace to win his debut at the Curragh on May 24.
