WAR DANCER Nipped at the Wire in Man o’ War S.-G1

Multiple Graded stakes winner WAR DANCER set the pace from the start and just got caught in the last few strides for a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Man o’ War S. at Belmont. Racing 1 3/8 miles on the inner turf course, the son of WAR FRONT maintained a 1/2 length lead through much of the race, was confronted by his closest rival at the top of the stretch and answered that challenge keeping that horse at bay until just before the wire. WAR DANCER has now won or placed in seven Graded stakes, including wins in Colonial Downs’ $500,000 Virginia Derby-G2 and Churchill’s Louisville H.-G3. Trained by Bill Mott for Diamond M Stable, WAR DANCER, who has earnings of $742,662, was bred in Kentucky by Cherry Valley Farm and Stuart S. Janney and is out Deed I Do, by Alydeed.
