Quality Offerings for PRINCE OF MONACO Continue in Book 3

The quality of PRINCE OF MONACO’s first crop continues to be on display at Keeneland November when weanlings hailing from some of the best families in the stud book go through the ring in Book 3.

The first of the book for PRINCE OF MONACO is Hip 1148 offered by Ballysax Bloodstock.

Bred by Newstead Corp, the colt is a half to five winners and three other placed runners – including his 2-year-old half-sister – from eight to race. The colt’s Dubawi dam Almashooqa is an eighth-generation stakes producer with her runners including stakes winner Manaafith, who won six of her nine starts.

Almashooqa is also the dam of seven-time winner My Noble Lord and is a winner herself as one of six winners out of the multiple Grade 3-placed Turjomaan. Their Storm Cat dam is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Summer Colony and four other stakes producers.

A half-sister to Grade 1 winner Wicked Strong is the dam of Hip 1226, offered by Grovendale Sales.

The colt bred by LV Farm is a half-brother to one winner from one to race out of Bernardini mare Delgany, who also has a Liam’s Map colt. Delgany is a half-sister to eight winners, led by Wicked Strong and overall is one of 12 winners out of the stakes placed Classic Approval. That mare was a strong broodmare with four of those winners earning blacktype, led by Grade 3 winners Gulch Approval and Rusty Slipper.

While Moyne Abbey was Classic Approval’s only Grade 1 producer, three other daughters produced stakes performers, including stakes winners and Grade 2 placed Adhafera and Chocopologie.

Hip 1276 consigned by Grovendale is regally bred as a grandson of Ashado.

Bred by William Humphries and Altair Farms, this colt is the second out of Froshado who was a winner at two. She is one of seven winners out of champion Ashado, whose best foal was stakes winner Westwood, but who sees multiple daughters provide updates to this page with their runners winning in recent months. Ashado is one of five stakes performers out of the stakes winning Goulash alongside Grade 1 winner Sunriver and Grade 3 winner Saint Stephen.

Hip 1305 offered by Vinery Sales is coming into the ring with an update after Destino d’Oro added another stakes placing to her record when third in the Forever Together S. on September 20.

Winning the Hillsborough S. (G2) one start before that update, Destino d’Oro is out of a Grade 1-placed half-sister to this colt’s Hard Spun dam Hard Headed Temper, who has produced three winners from three to race led by dual Grade 3 winner Undervalued Asset. Hard Headed Temper is also a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed Brother Bobby and four other winners in addition to Destino d’Oro’s dam.

The page also includes Grade 1 winner and stakes producer Rosalind with dual Grade 1 winner Life’s Hope right off the page.

The second foal out of Justify mare Kingdom Come sells as Hip 1338 with Claiborne as part of the complete dispersal of Bruce Lunsford.

Kingdom Come’s first foal was a $110,000 Maximus Mischief yearling in September and the mare sells as Hip 1339 carrying another foal by PRINCE OF MONACO. Kingdom Come is out of the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Distorted Legacy, making her a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Art Collector and the Grade 3-placed Classic Legacy.

Distorted Legacy is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Vision and Verse and four dams and granddams of stakes performers.

The third book of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale takes place on November 6 and 7 with 10a.m. session start times.
