MINDFRAME Looks to Carry Keeneland Success into Book 3

After an accomplished group of mares goes through the Keeneland November ring carrying the first crop by MINDFRAME in the first two books, he sees another strong set sell in Book 3 on November 6 and 7.

The first of those 11 mares is Hip 1154 offered by Claiborne Farm.

Another Time was a successful racemare on the track with the five-time winner setting a new course record at Woodbine and placing in both a Grade 2 and Grade 3. She has three foals with only a 3-year-old being racing age. Before the foal she’s carrying, she has a yearling by Life Is Good and a BLAME weanling filly to come.

Another Time is one of six winners from seven to race out of Unbridled’s Song mare Idoitmyway. A two-time winner, Idoitmyway produced four stakes performers, led by multiple stakes winner Star Student.  Idoitmyway is a half-sister to two stakes performers, led by multiple stakes winner Miss Inclusive.

Hip 1547 offered by Claiborne Farm is Veracious Applause, a granddaughter of the successful Grade 2 winning broodmare Yell.

Veracious Applause has three foals with only a 2-year-old of racing age. That Charlatan filly is breezing regularly and registered two bullets at Ellis Park in September before moving to Churchill Downs. Veracious Applause also has a Street Sense yearling colt and BLAME weanling colt to come.

This Medaglia d’Oro mare is a half-sister to two winners from two to race out of Veracity, a winning full sister to the stakes winning Cheery and stakes placed Shrill. A five-time winner, Cheery is also the dam of dual Grade 1 winner Elate, who is a stakes producer herself. Veracity is also a half-sister to BLAME’s Grade 3-placed Chide and to the dam of Grade 2 winner Tax.

Carrying her first foal by MINDFRAME after ending her career with a close second in early April is Hip 1742, the stakes placed Kentucky Smokeshow.

Offered by Paramount Sales, the earner of $202,673 placed in the top three in seven of 15 starts, headlined by a second-place finish in the Listed Purple Martin S. at Oaklawn. Kentucky Smokeshow is one of six winners from eight to race out of Dying to Dance, who is also the dam of stakes winner Encumbered and Grade 3-placed Your Only Man.

This is a deep family with 18 stakes performers under her second dam and champions Mrs. Penny, Gran Sultan, and Hatoof and Grade 1 winners Unaccounted For, Curren Black Hill, Irish Prize, and Trading Leather under the third.

A full sister to Grade 1 winner and successful sire Violence sells with KatieRich Farms as Hip 1985.

Out of Violent Beauty, who has produced five winners from five to race, Wild Mint is a successful broodmare herself. The mare is the dam of the Grade 2-placed Free Look among her four runners and saw her unraced 2-year-old sell for $250,000 this year with her yearling bringing the same price in September.

Wild Mint’s third dam is the champion Sky Beauty, who was a stakes winning daughter of another multiple Grade 1 winner and successful broodmare in Maplejinsky.

Keeneland’s two Book 3 sessions take place on November 6 and 7 with sessions beginning at 10a.m.
