Turn It Up a Notch Racing, Chad Ahalt, and John Tamburo visited the winner’s circle on Thursday at Delaware Park when IRONICUS’s Iron Pearls broke his maiden.
Trained by Shaun Morrow, the gelding was quick out of the gate and took pace setting duties early in the one mile dirt race. Running as the race favorite, Iron Pearls was closely attended by Sunny Saint around the track with that one determined to make a true race of it.
That was exactly what happened in the stretch when he put a challenge to Iron Pearls. Showing he had just as much determination as the “Iron” in his name implies, Iron Pearls always kept the advantage to win by a nose.
