FLATTER only had two entries at Lone Star Park on Sunday but he made them count with both visiting the winner’s circle for the sixth time in their careers after Allowance races.
FLATTER’s Canadian Ginger caught the eye in the fourth race of the day when racing over seven furlongs on the dirt. The 4-year-old Stonestreet Thoroughbreds-bred stumbled at the start but was quickly after the lead under Ramon Vazquez.
The filly was initially pressured when she took over the lead but she quickly put that to rest when starting to draw off in the turn. Canadian Ginger was not for catching after she started to build her margin, taking it to 9 ¾ lengths at the wire to record a third straight victory for M and M Racing and trainer Robertino Diodoro.
Later on the card, FLATTER’s Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1-placed Favorable Outcome showed that nearly 10 months off was no hurdle for the horse.
Tracking the leader throughout the 6 ½ furlong dirt race, Favorable Outcome raced wide around the turn to go for the lead. Taking command as they entered the final furlong, Favorable Outcome had to hold off a challenge late but kept that horse 1 ¼ lengths behind him with the third place finisher a further six lengths back.
It was the sixth victory in 20 starts for Favorable Outcome, who is close to $500,000 in earnings. Canadian Ginger has also recorded six victories in her 16 starts with 12 top three finishes.
FLATTER is having another good year in 2021 with four stakes winners and seven stakes performers led by Grade 1 winner Search Results.
