Only a little over a week before FLATTER watches two of his daughters run in the Kentucky Oaks (G1), a full brother to one of those was the most expensive colt of the third session of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds on Thursday.
Selling for $625,000 to Lauren Carlisle as agent and Myracehorse.com, the year-younger full brother to multiple stakes winner Search Results had breezed in :10.1 at last week’s show. He also got another update hours after selling when half-brother Blue Steel won his fifth career race at Keeneland.
“We are super pumped about [Search Results],” Carlisle to Thoroughbred Daily News. “Hopefully, in a week, she might have a really big update. We thought the colt was an outstanding physical. He had a good [breeze] video. There wasn’t anything to not like about him.”
Offered by de Meric Sales, the March-born colt is out of the Grade 3-placed Co Cola and bred by Machmer Hall. A $100,000 yearling purchase by de Meric last September, his granddam is also the dam of Grade I-placed Kingdom Road. There are stakes horses under each of the colt’s first four dams with his third dam Alljazz the dam of Canadian champion Kimchi and the granddam of multiple Grade 1 winner Mind Your Biscuits.
Co Cola returned to FLATTER this year.
FLATTER is among the leading 3-year-old dirt sires by graded stakes horses in 2021 with his 18.2% graded stakes performers behind only Curlin.
