A new star has emerged from this deep family in Galileo Chrome (IRE), out of a great-granddaughter of DEMARCHELIER (GB)‘s third dam ALRUCCABA (IRE). The son of Australia (GB) is unbeaten this year, and Friday found Grade 1 glory in the British Champion Series at Doncaster, becoming the ninth Grade 1 winner under DEMARCHELIER (GB)‘s first three dams.
Galileo Chrome (IRE), conditioned by Joseph Patrick O’Brien, raced along midpack in the Pertemps St Leger (G1) under jockey Tom Marquand. Within the final few furlongs, Galileo Chrome (IRE) eagerly weaved through traffic to make headway, and battled gamely to the wire to win by a neck in the 3-year-old classic.
