SILVER STATE Colt Wins Fifth Consecutive Race

SILVER STATE’s El Consistente won for the fifth straight time on Friday with an Allowance victory at Camarero to kick off his year.

Racing over a mile on the dirt, El Consistente broke from the outside gate and raced wide around the first turn. By the time they entered the backstretch, he was pushing the leader while under a tight hold and just waiting for his time to run. That came as they raced toward the turn with El Consistente taking over the lead and easily pulling away.

In the stretch, he received a few taps to win by 4 ¼ lengths to follow up victories in Puerto Rican Grade 1 and Grade 2 races.

Trained by Eric Betancourt for Denian Stable, the Forever Springs Farm-bred has only one loss on his record.

El Consistente is first foal out of unraced Munnings mare Behind The Lines. She is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Hidden Message and seven other winners from nine to race out of Secret Charm. A stakes winner in England and stakes placed in the U.S., Secret Charm is one of three stakes performers out of her own dam alongside stakes winner and Epsom Oaks (G1) third Relish The Thought.

Relish The Thought is also a successful broodmare as the dam of three stakes performers and a stakes producer from her own foals. There’s success throughout the family with the group led by Grade 1 winner Gozzip Girl.

SILVER STATE saw 11 of his first juveniles win last year with one stakes winner and two stakes performers. He stands for $7,500 in 2026.
