Omaha Beach, the brilliant son of War Front, scored his third Grade 1 victory in the Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) Dec 28 at Santa Anita. After stalking the pace, Omaha Beach away to gallop home 2 3/4 lengths clear of Santa Anita Derby (G1) victor Roadster. The seven furlong test was completed in 1:22.33.
This year, Omaha Beach has racked up an impressive series of wins with victories in the Arkansas Derby (G1), Rebel Stakes (G2), Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes (G1), and Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1).
On the board in all 10 career starts, Omaha Beach has earned over $1.6 million, including a runner-up finish in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
Owned by Fox Hill Farm, Omaha Beach is trained by Richard Mandella. He was bred in Kentucky by Charming Syndicate out of the Seeking the Gold mare Charming, which makes him a half brother to champion 2-year-old filly Take Charge Brandi and a full brother to group 1-placed Courage Under Fire.
Omaha Beach is now pointing towards the Runhappy Pegasus World Cup (G1) January 25th.
