The first mare in foal to PRINCE OF MONACO caught the eye of buyers on Monday night at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale when his first in-foal mare sold for $350,000 to Repole Stable.
Sold by Taylor Made Sales carrying her second foal on a March 17 cover, Sassy Beast was a multiple stakes winner who won eight races overall with 10 other top three finishes for $297,110. That record includes placings in every stakes she contested with only two off-the-board finishes in her 20-race career.
Seeing her first foal sell for $385,000 earlier in the night, she has every chance to be a successful broodmare. Sassy Beast is one of five stakes performers out of the stakes placed I’mclassyandsassy, whose best runner is an impressive 2025 juvenile in the Grade 3 winner and Grade 2-placed Obliteration. That colt also finished second in the Indian Summer S. after the catalog was released.
Sassy Beast is a full sister to stakes winner Pure Class, who finished third in the Benny the Bull H. after the catalog was released, and Grade 3-placed Big and Classy. Her half-sister is also the dam of stakes winner Sonajero, who took his record to five wins in seven starts after the catalog was released.
Her second dam is the Relaunche mare Launch Site, whose nine winners include stakes winner Fairway Road and the stakes placed duo of Vigilant Site and Launch Commander.
PRINCE OF MONACO is set to be represented by a large group of mares at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale this week with 19 on offer.
