3YO WAGING WAR Becomes Newest Stakes Horse

Making his stakes debut, WAGING WAR pressed the pace and ran a solid race to finish runner-up in the seven-furlong Allen’s Landing S. at Sam Houston. The 3-year-old colt by WAR FRONT was a stunning 14 lengths in front of the third-place horse. WAGING WAR was coming off an allowance score at the Fair Grounds where he set the pace and won be 3 1/2 lengths. Last year at 2, the $350,000 Keeneland 2013 sales grad won a Maiden Special Weight at Keeneland by three lengths in his third career start and finished on the board at Saratoga in his debut, beaten less than three lengths. Bred by Claiborne Farm out of the Seeking the Gold mare, Sidle, WAGING WAR is trained by Al Stall for owner Columbine Stable LLC.
