Claiborne Stallions Bring Big Numbers at F-T November

Claiborne stallions Blame, War Front, and Mastery were represented with big numbers in the auction ring during the Fasig Tipton November Sale on Nov. 5.

Fault, the daughter of Claiborne’s Eclipse Champion and three-time G1 winner Blame, was bought for $1.2 million by Shadai Farm. The filly was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.

Blame, the sire of 13 stakes winners so far this year, will stand the 2019 season at Claiborne for $30,000.

Two offspring by Claiborne’s international super sire War Front also sold for $875,000 and $275,000.

Three Chimneys Farm paid $875,000 for the multiple stakes-winning mare Win the War, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Dixie City. She was consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent.

Quargent, consigned by Valkyre Stud, agent, was bought for $275,000 by Audley Farm Equine. She is a winning 3-year-old filly out of the New York graded stakes winner Naples Bay, a half-sister to brilliant racehorse and sire Medaglia d’Oro.

In foal to War Front, Song of Bernadette also lit up the bid board when she fetched $2.3 million from Bridlewood Farm. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, the daughter of Bernardini is the dam of dual Grade 1 winner Catholic Boy.

War Front is the #1 sire by percentage of lifetime graded stakes winners. His 2019 fee is $250,000.  

New Claiborne stallion Mastery, an undefeated Grade 1 winner, also received some recognition when Drumette, who is carrying a foal by him, brought $1.85 million. Consigned by Gainesway, agent and bought by Bridlewood Farm, Drumette is the dam of Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Monomoy Girl.

Mastery’s 2019 fee is $25,000.
