SILVER STATE’s juveniles were ready to impress buyers at the OBS June 2-Year-Old In Training Under Tack Show this week with four registering breezes just a tick off the bullet at :10.0.
The first of those offered is Hip 51, a colt out of Twice Around consigned by Wavertree Stables. Bred by Haymarket Farm, the colt is a half-brother to two winners from two to race. Their stakes placed dam Twice Around is a half-sister to the stakes runner-up Keino West and out of a half-sister to three stakes performers.
Those stakes performers are led by Grade 3 winner Odysseus and multiple stakes winner and Grade 1 producer Once Around. This is a strong stakes family with five stakes winners leading the eight stakes performers named.
A colt out of Blizzard Beach is offered by Little Farm Equine as Hip 176 after breezing in :10.0.
Bred by Brandywine Farm, his dam’s first to race is the three-time winner Speed Control. Blizzard Beach is a half-sister to Grade 3-placed Triple Cream and Venado. Her other sisters didn’t earn blacktype, but one produced Grade 3 winner Toowindytohaulrox and another produced Grade 2 winner Pomeroy’s Pistol – who not only is the dam of Grade 2 winner Thousand Words but also the granddam of Grade 1 winner Faiza.
This colt’s second dam has been a big-time producer with 12 stakes performers led by four stakes winners.
Named Silver Juani, a Moreau Bloodstock International-bred filly goes through the ring as Hip 195 with GOP Racing Stable.
The filly is the second foal out of stakes winner Calamity Jane, who won six races overall. This is a strong international page. Argentinian champion Kononkop and multiple Grade 2 winner Koller feature among the five stakes winners and seven stakes performer named on the page.
Multiple stakes winner Dene Court is the dam of Hip 417, a SILVER STATE colt offered by McKathan Bros.
That mare is the dam of multiple Grade 2 placed Artemus Citylimits among her three winners from four to race. Dene Court is one of three stakes performers out of Operetta, who also produced dual stakes winner Jacally and Grade 3-placed Theregoesjojo. This page also includes multiple stakes winner and producer Princess Alicia.
Hip 591 comes into the ring after galloping with a close family stakes update. That comes courtesy of his dam’s half-brother Highestdistinction, who finished second in the Cliff Hanger S. to add to a six-win record that includes the Grade 3 Baltimore/Washington International Turf Cup.
Offered by Caliente Thoroughbreds, the February-born colt is the first foal out of the stakes winning Morning Molly, who was also second in a Grade 2. Bred by White Fox Farm in Kentucky, the colt also sees Grade 3 winners Flying Glitter and Bahnah and champion Walkoff on the page.
Morning Molly has every chance of making it as a stakes producer with each of her first eight dams producing at least one stakes performer.
The OBS June 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale kicks off on June 17 with sessions starting at 10:00a.m.
