2YO ROYAL NAVY SHIP Runner-up in G3 Killavullan

Making his second career start after a debut win over the yielding turf at the Curragh two weeks ago, ROYAL NAVY SHIP stepped up into stiffer competition and finished runner-up in Leopardstown’s Killavullan S.-G3. The 2-year-old colt by WAR FRONT took the lead soon after the break on a yielding to soft course again in this seven-furlong test. ROYAL NAVY SHIPwas headed near the top of the straight but reclaimed the lead only to be caught late beaten less than a length. Bred in Kentucky by Rosemont Farm out of Indy Punch by Pulling Punches,ROYAL NAVY SHIP was a $500,000 Saratoga Select yearling purchase last year, the co-second highest priced colt of the first session. He is the eighth juvenile stakes horse this year for WAR FRONT and the fifth graded 2-year-old.
