It’s another champion for WAR FRONT after Full Count Felicia was named Champion Female Turf Horse at the Sovereign Awards on Thursday.
The Joseph Allen-bred mare’s biggest score came in the E.P. Taylor S. in September when she put on a dominant display from the gate.
Racing over 1 ¼ miles in the Grade 1 race, Full Count Felicia was in full command from the start and at one point had 20 lengths on the field. Still comfortable in the stretch, she won by 3 ½ lengths in the end over Moira, who was named Eclipse Champion Turf Female for 2024.
That was one of two wins on the year for Full Count Felicia, who also won the Canadian S. (G2) by 2 ¾ lengths one start prior.
After finishing just 3 ½ lengths behind the winner in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1), Full Count Felicia was sold to Willingham Stud for $1 million at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
Sent to Australia, where she’s now in training with Chris Waller, Full Count Felicia finished a good fourth in the Ranvet S. (G1) when making her Australian debut last month.
This is the ninth champion for WAR FRONT, who has the best strike rate of any North American stallion.
