Making his stakes debut, WAGING WAR pressed the pace and ran a solid race to finish runner-up in the seven-furlong Allen’s Landing S. at Sam Houston. The 3-year-old colt by WAR FRONT was a stunning 14 lengths in front of the third-place horse. WAGING WAR was coming off an allowance score at the Fair Grounds where he set the pace and won be 3 1/2 lengths. Last year at 2, the $350,000 Keeneland 2013 sales grad won a Maiden Special Weight at Keeneland by three lengths in his third career start and finished on the board at Saratoga in his debut, beaten less than three lengths.
