3YO FUELED BY BOURBON Pulls Away to Win Maiden Special at Santa Anita

Making his second career start and first since last September, FUELED BY BOURBON pulled away late for 1 3/4-length Maiden Special Weight win on the downhill turf course at Santa Anita. The 3-year-old colt by STROLL raced along the rail for most of the race and outdueled a rival in mid-stretch to get the win. An $85,000 OBS March purchase last year, FUELED BY BOURBON was bred and raised by Claiborne Farm out of the ARCH Mare Bend. He is a full brother to ESCAPIST, who sent a NCR at Belmont in 2014, and a half-brother to multiple GSW Clearly Now, by HORSE GREELEY.
