2YO JAX AND JAY Is Newest First Crop Winner

After a runner-up finish is his last start, JAX AND JAY proved best this time taking a four-furlong Maiden Special Weight by 1 1/4 lengths. The 2-year-old colt from the first crop of GSW/G1-Placed TRAPPE SHOT raced in second early on, closed outside the frontrunner through the stretch and drove past the leader to get the win in his third start at Timonium. He was 6 1/2 lengths in front of the third-place finisher. JAX AND JAY was bred by Barak Farm out of the ARCH mare Arch Enemy and is trained by Scott Lake for owner Robert L. Cole, Jr.
